Expert James McPherson interviewed for new book in the best-selling series, Ready, Aim, Captivate!

James McPherson is a workforce talent management executive, consultant, coach, mentor, trainer, writer, and speaker with experience as a business line manager and corporate attorney.

James has had direct responsibility for designing, developing, delivering, and evaluating talent management and customer service products, services, and solutions, in the Americas, Europe, Middle East, Asia and Africa.  Some of his current and former clients and employers include IBM, Progress Energy, Red Hat, Tekelec, Scott Paper Company, Duke University, Duke University Health System, University of Tennessee, Saint Augustine’s College, United States Air Force, Department of Labor, and City of Durham.

James has experience in consulting, coaching, and speaking with executives at different levels, including CEOs, EVPs, SVPs, VPs, General Managers, Directors, and high-potentials. He is an expert in enabling sustainable strategic success for customers through delivery of keen insight and unique solutions in the areas of customer success, strategic alignment and execution, HR strategy and planning, talent assessment and selection, performance management, leadership and management development, succession management, employee engagement, and diversity and inclusion.

James is currently the Director of Learning and Organization Development with Duke University and Duke University Health System.  He is also the Founder and President of Vision and Destiny Group, a consulting, coaching, mentoring, training, and speaking firm, focusing in the areas of strategy alignment and execution, leadership and management development, and organization assessment, design, and development.

James has an MBA with a concentration in management from the University of Wisconsin at Madison and a doctorate of jurisprudence from Georgetown University in Washington, DC.  James lives near Raleigh, North Carolina with his wife Michelle of over 30 years.
